I created a new site this week to help spread the word about our Geo Affiliate concept and what better domain to use than GeoAffiliate.com

I grabbed the name several months ago when it became available but I wasn’t sure exactly what I was going to do with it until this weekend. That’s when I came across a great free javascript by GeoBytes.com which enabled me to use IPlocation to track sales.

While IPLocation is not a perfect solution for our business model, (the IP is based on ISP location, not visitor location) it makes for an interesting way to test and help brand our unique Affiliate Marketing concept.

When someone visits GeoAffiliate.com, a location code based on their IP is embedded onto Affiliate links so we can track sales and pay commissions to County and State Subscribers. Unfortunately tracking to Zip-Codes would not be fair with this system so we’re not going to do it.

We also plan on building an Affiliate Directory based on Territories as well. So Geo Affiliates can submit listings for their favorite programs and then get leads from their specific location code.

So for example if you were promoting 4ECorp, a very popular new bizopp… You could sponsor the listing for your LocationCode.. and every one from your location code who clicked on the 4ECorp listing would goto your affiliate site. So you could have 100’s of Reps submitting listings for the same company, but all leads would be targeted to local sponsors.

Check it out.. We’re just getting started with it, but it should really help expand the Got-Zip name.
